‘Duality’ The concept behind this piece came about when I imagined what it would be like to be an omnipresent entity. This entity would experience every aspect of existence, the good, the neutral and the negative, which terrified me. Throughout its creation I dwelt on all the suffering that goes on in this world. Transcribing those thoughts onto paper helped me understand that we need to experience suffering in order to appreciate our release from it. This took me three years to complete, I drew it using fine tipped pens on watercolour paper 2.525m tall x 1.782m wide (9 A1 sheets of paper).
