TITANS WHO ESCAPED THE FALL
TITANS WHO ESCAPED THE FALL
There were a few who escaped unbroken,
1: MURRHINE RESH, the all-seeing blind one
One of the first titans to be birthed by the earth was a peaceful being who loved all things that grew within the confines of natural law. He bore two faces, one facing up, the other down, and is known by several names, but his first name was ‘Murrhine Resh’.
Resh did not much enjoy the company of the other titans, instead he preferred to spend his time speaking with the trees and the natural life that lived around him. As he grew in age, he began to suffer from a rare malady that caused him considerable pain and eventually led to blindness in both of his eyes. He could not experience the world as he once did but being unable to see caused him to witness other things, he was growing omniscient and could connect to the life around him in strange ways. He also became increasingly proficient in telepathy, which allowed him to commune with the earth, who taught him many important lessons, including how to connect with and build upon his inner world.
Meanwhile, amongst the titans a council had formed. It was made up of seven of the oldest and wisest. Murrhine knew all of them well for they had been his friends in the early years. He could have been one of them if he had shared in their views. The council decided upon matters that would affect the entirety of the titans. Immortality changes the way a creature thinks, and with no end to prepare for, they instead feared wrong direction, wasted time and anything that may slow down progress. The council of seven decided together on what direction would be best for the rest of the whole. – Ascension – they would combine their strength and rise as one great tower.
And so, as time went on and the other titans began to speak of building up and out, Murrhine preached of building down and within. He advocated for the cultivation of the inner as opposed to the outer, and tried to tell them of the awareness their earth mother had, few listened. However the council grew concerned nonetheless as they had decided that total, unified agreement on the construction of the tower was a necessity.
The members of the council decided an example needed to be made of him. As foundations for the tower were being planned, they gathered the rest of the titans and held a secret meeting to discuss what was to be done about ‘Murrhine the Blind’.
Upon reaching an agreement on the correct course of action, the Titans very quietly surrounded Resh, who was meditating amongst the trees in a nearby forest. They overpowered him, gagged his mouth, restrained his limbs and hung him up by his feet from a large ‘T’ structure they had built, which rose up from the earth and faced the official ground where the tower was to be built. They left him there while they worked on the tower, which was a considerably lengthy process. It was not until many years later, when the tower was reaching its completion that they asked him one last time if he had changed his mind and would repent his silly beliefs, but he did not.
So, as a final act of humiliation and cruelty, the seven titans of the council sentenced him back to the earth. ‘If you wish to build down, so be it’ they said in unison. He was to live out the rest of eternity residing in relative nothingness, he would be buried beneath the earth in a giant stone tomb, chained and gagged. An unimaginably horrible punishment for a titan, as the titans never die. But his accusers did not understand that the earth was a living entity and she cared for the one they had cast out, she saw his true potential. And while they left him to hang as they built their tower, she spoke to him, and gave him comfort.
The earth swallowed him deep down into the heart of her being and that is where he resides to this day.
His tomb of stone is now a throne as he works with the earth and speaks through a chosen few that dwell on the surface amongst the masses. Those capable of pulling and pushing the necessary parts together and apart in order to allow the flood to flow and the wheel to turn. Many there are across the dimensions; conduits, willing but unwitting, for the message is convoluted, though it needs not be fully understood, nor should it be - definition so often confines interpretation.
And so, in the center of the inner, Murrhine Resh, the all-seeing blind one will remain, until the day when all pieces have moved to their appropriate place, when he may once again return to the surface.
2. HESTIA
The second Titan who escaped the fall was Hestia. Hestia was one of the last titans the earth conceived, and for this reason she was more rebellious, progressive and naïve than the others. She held a deep love for all things small and believed that what the titans were doing to the little beings was wrong. Her love for the little ones was what caused her to escape the fall. She left the tower to live on the earth shortly before the council had formed and built a sanctuary for her and her little creatures to reside in.
She teaches the little creatures that inhabit her haven how to live independently (both physically and mentally) through a process of connecting to the ‘inner’. A place deep within each of us that is mostly disconnected from the conscious, which is why connection to it feels much like connection to that which is outside of us. The inner knows all and is connected to all. It guides those willing to listen.
